Add cheese mixture to pot, a small handful at a time, stirring slowly and constantly. Be sure to scrape the bottom of the pot so the fondue doesn’t burn.
Add milk until fondue reaches desired consistency.
Serve in saucepan, fondue pot, or bowl. If fondue begins to thicken too much after it’s been away from the heat, place it back on the heat and add about 1/4-1/2 cup of milk and stir over the heat for a few minutes until the consistency becomes thinner.
Serve with skewers and bread cubes, soft pretzel bites, fruit and vegetables for dipping.
