Ingredients

Tender, juicy spare ribs seasoned with Weber® Honey Garlic Rub, slow-cooked to perfection, then glazed with a tangy apple-infused BBQ sauce and caramelized on the grill for a smoky, flavorful finish.

Directions

  1. Preheat: Preheat grill low heat 300°F, and line a large roasting pan with foil or use a foil pan.
  2. Preparing Ribs: Pat ribs dry with paper towels, remove silver skin from bone side and generously rub both sides with Weber® Honey Garlic Rub. Press the rub firmly into the meat.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight for maximum flavor.
  4. Cook Ribs: Pour the apple juice and apple cider vinegar into the bottom of the pan, and seasoned ribs on top. Cover the pan tightly with foil.
  5. Place the pan on the grill and cook for 2 hours or until the meat begins to pull away from the bones.
  6. Sauce: Remove ribs from pan and transfer to a platter. Reserve 1 cup of the cooking liquid and discard the rest.
  7. Pour reserved liquid into a pan. Boil over high heat until reduced by half, whisk in the Weber® Sweet & Thick Original BBQ Sauce.
  8. Grill Ribs: Increase the grill temperature to medium-high heat 400°F.
  9. Place the ribs directly on the grill and cook for 5 minutes per side, or until they develop a caramelized, slightly charred crust.
  10. Serve: Let the ribs rest 5 minutes, then brush generously with the reduced BBQ sauce mixture.
  11. Serve hot with additional BBQ sauce on the side.

Tips & Tricks

  • Maintain a steady 300°F for tender, juicy ribs. Use the bend test to check doneness: lift one end with tongs—if the ribs bend and slightly crack, they're ready. Consistent temperature prevents dryness or toughness.
