Ingredients
- 1 pkg Lit'l Smokies Smoked Sausages
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ⅓ cup grated cheddar cheese
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
- 2 tbsp Weber® Ultimate Garlic Seasoning, divided
- 12 fresh jalapeños, tops, bottoms, and cores removed, sliced in half lengthwise
- 2 8 oz containers crescent roll dough
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
A smoky twist on classic pigs in a blanket, these jalapeño popper-inspired bites combine creamy cheese, crispy bacon, and savory sausages wrapped in flaky crescent rolls. Perfect for smoking or grilling!
Directions
- Preheat Grill or Smoker: Smoking Option: Preheat smoker to 350°F with your choice of wood chips.Grilling Option: Preheat grill to 375°F for indirect heat.
- Prepare Jalapeños: Cut off the tops and bottoms of the jalapeños, slice in half lengthwise, and remove seeds and membranes. Set aside.
- Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, and 1 tbsp Weber® Ultimate Garlic Seasoning until smooth.
- Stuff Jalapeños: Fill each jalapeño half with about 1½ tbsp of the cheese mixture. Place a Lit'l Smokies sausage on top of each filled jalapeño.
- Wrap with Crescent Dough: Separate the crescent roll dough into individual triangles and slice each triangle in half. Wrap each piece of dough around a stuffed jalapeño, sealing the edges gently.
- Brush and Season: Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining 1 tbsp Weber® Ultimate Garlic Seasoning.
- Cook: Smoking Option: Arrange prepared jalapeño poppers on a smoker-safe tray or directly on the grates. Smoke for 20–25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.Grilling Option: Place poppers on a grill-safe tray or pan and cook for 15–20 minutes with the lid closed, until the crescent rolls are puffed and golden.
- Serve: Remove from the smoker or grill and let cool for 5 minutes before serving. These spicy, cheesy, savory bites are perfect for game days or gatherings!
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra kick, sprinkle the filled jalapeños with additional Weber® Ultimate Garlic Seasoning before wrapping them in dough.
- These can also be prepared ahead of time and cooked right before serving for maximum freshness!
