- 2 tbsp bourbon or apple juice
- 3 tbsp Weber® KC BBQ Rub, divided
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
This recipe combines the sweet, smoky flavors of maple syrup and bourbon with the bold spices of Weber® KC BBQ Rub for a perfectly grilled, flavorful chicken dish. Great for backyard BBQs or weeknight dinners!
Directions
- Preheat: Preheat grill to medium direct heat 350°F –400°F.
- Glaze: Combine in a sauce pan over medium-high heat maple syrup, butter, bourbon (or apple juice), and 1 tbsp Weber® KC BBQ Rub. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce medium and simmer for 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Chicken: Generously coat both sides of the chicken breasts with 2 tbsp Weber® KC BBQ Rub. Press the rub into the meat to ensure even coverage.
- Place the chicken on the preheated grill. Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- During the last 5 minutes of grilling, brush the prepared maple bourbon glaze over the chicken, turning frequently to caramelize the glaze without burning.
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
Tips & Tricks
