Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb ground lamb
- 1/3 cup Weber® Sweet & Thick Original BBQ Sauce, divided
- 1 1.3-oz package onion soup mix, divided
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 oz crumbled feta cheese
- 3 dashes Tabasco sauce, or more to taste
- 8 sun-dried tomatoes in oil, sliced
- 1 cup red onion, thin slivers
- 4 hard rolls or your favorite buns
A Mediterranean-style burger that's full of flavor.
Directions
- Prepare Patties: In a large bowl, mix ground lamb with ¼ cup Weber® Sweet & Thick Original BBQ Sauce and half the onion soup mix.
- Form into 4 equal-sized patties and brush with olive oil. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to let flavors develop.
- Make Spread: In a medium bowl, combine remaining onion soup mix, cream cheese, feta cheese, 1 tbsp Weber® Sweet & Thick Original BBQ Sauce, Tabasco sauce, and sun-dried tomatoes.
- Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours.
- Preheat Grill: Preheat grill to medium heat (350°F–400°F).
- Grill Burgers: Remove patties and spread from the refrigerator just before grilling.
- Grill patties over direct medium heat for 8–10 minutes, turning once halfway through, until cooked through and no longer pink.
- Transfer burgers to a clean platter to rest.
- Toast Buns: Place buns on the grill and toast for 1–2 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Assemble Burgers: Place a grilled lamb patty on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top with a dollop of feta spread and red onion slivers.
- Finish with the top bun and serve immediately.
Tips & Tricks
- Allowing the lamb patties rest at room temperature for 15–20 minutes after removing them from the refrigerator before grilling. This helps the meat cook more evenly and retain its moisture.
