Ingredients
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 4 tbsp Weber® Smokey Mesquite Seasoning
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 cup apple juice
- ½ cup sweet onion, minced
- 12 chicken drumsticks
- 1 cup Weber® Sweet & Thick Original BBQ Sauce

Directions
- Marinate Preparation: In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, Weber® Smokey Mesquite Seasoning, honey, apple juice, and mince onion.
- Place the chicken drumsticks in a large dish or resealable bag.
- Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring the drumsticks are completely coated.
- Cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 12 hours for maximum flavor.
- Chicken: Preheat grill to medium low heat 325°F–350°F.
- Remove the drumsticks from the marinade and gently pat dry.
- Place the drumsticks on the grill and cook for 15–20 minutes per side, flipping only once.
- Brush the drumsticks with Weber® Sweet & Thick Original BBQ Sauce during the final few minutes of cooking to caramelize the sauce.
- Serve the drumsticks hot with additional BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
Tips & Tricks
- For extra juicy and flavorful chicken, let the drumsticks marinate overnight in the refrigerator. The longer marinating time allows the seasoning and liquid to fully infuse the meat.
