Directions

  1. Preheat Grill: Preheat the grill to high heat (450°F–550°F).
  2. Make Cheese Filling: In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup of the cheese, onion, and jalapeño.
  3. Form Patties: Divide the ground chuck into 8 equal portions, each about 5 inches in diameter.
  4. Place an equal amount of the cheese mixture on 4 patties.
  5. Top each with a second patty, sealing the edges tightly to encase the cheese mixture.
  6. Season both sides of the patties evenly with Weber® Gourmet Burger™ Seasoning.
  7. Grill Burgers: Brush the cooking grates clean.
  8. Grill the patties over direct high heat, lid closed as much as possible, for 8–10 minutes, turning once or twice, until cooked to medium.
  9. Toast Buns: During the last minute of grilling, toast the buns, cut sides down, over direct heat until lightly browned.
  10. Assemble and Serve: Place each patty on a toasted bun and add your favorite burger toppings. Serve immediately.

Tips & Tricks

  • To ensure the cheese stays sealed inside the patties, press the edges firmly and slightly overlap the bottom patty over the top.
