Buffalo Trace™ Spiced Sausage and Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 20 large white button mushrooms
  • 8 oz sausage, casings removed
  • 1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • ¼ cup green onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Weber® Buffalo Trace™ Whiskey Flavored Seasoning
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
These savory stuffed mushrooms are loaded with sausage, spinach, and a bold kick of Weber® Buffalo Trace™ Whiskey Flavored Seasoning. Perfect for appetizers or party platters, they’re sure to impress!

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Mushrooms: Remove the stems from the mushrooms and finely chop them. Keep the mushroom caps whole and set aside.
  3. Cook Filling: In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Add the chopped mushroom stems and cook for 3 minutes. Stir in the spinach and green onion, cooking for another 2 minutes or until heated through. Reduce heat to low and mix in the cream cheese until melted. Stir in the panko breadcrumbs and Weber® Buffalo Trace™ Whiskey Flavored Seasoning until well combined.
  4. Stuff and Bake: Arrange the mushroom caps on the prepared baking sheet. Fill each cap with the sausage mixture, packing it tightly. Bake for 15 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender.
  5. Serve: Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy warm. These stuffed mushrooms make the perfect bite-sized appetizer!

Tips & Tricks

  • For an extra crispy topping, sprinkle additional panko breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter on top of the stuffed mushrooms before baking.
