Ingredients

Juicy and flavorful, this tri-tip steak is seasoned with Weber® Savory BBQ Rub and grilled to perfection. A quick sear followed by gentle indirect heat ensures a beautifully charred crust and a tender, medium-rare center.

Directions

  1. Season & Marinate - Coat tri-tip evenly with Weber® Savory BBQ Rub. Cover and refrigerate for 4 to 24 hours. Let rest at room temperature 30 minutes before grilling.
  2. Preheat Grill - Set up grill for direct and indirect medium heat (350°–400°F). Sear - Grill over direct heat, lid closed, 10 minutes, turning once.
  3. Cook Indirect - Move to indirect heat and continue grilling until 125°F internal for medium-rare, about 20–30 minutes.
  4. Rest & Slice - Remove from grill and let rest 10–15 minutes. Slice against the grain.

  • For extra juiciness, tent with foil while resting, but avoid sealing tightly to preserve the crust.
