BBQ Pork Braid

  1. Rub seasoning on all sides of pork. Place in a large roasting pan with wine and cover.
  2. Bake in a preheated 325°F oven for 3 hours or until tender.
  3. Shred pork, discarding fat and bone. Stir in barbeque sauce and mix well.
  4. Unfold puff pastry sheets and place each on a large cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Roll out slightly and spoon barbequed pork into a 3 ½-inch strip lengthwise down the center of the dough to within a half inch of each end.
  6. Make cuts in the dough 1 inch apart on both long sides of rectangle just to the edge of the filling.
  7. Fold strips from alternating sides at an angle halfway across filling, with edges of strips slightly overlapping in the middle.
  8. Whisk together egg and water; brush over each braid. Sprinkle braids with sesame seeds and bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
